Food StampsThe Federal Food Stamp Program is administered by DSS. Individuals and families receiving public assistance, as well as non-public assistance families are eligible to apply. Applications are accepted at either the Hopewell or Geneva DSS offices, open Monday through Friday from 8:30am until 2:00pm. Earned Income Deduction 20% Utility Allowance $222 Heating/Air Allowance $478 Telephone Allowance $ 33 Maximum Dependent Care Deduction $175 per child age 2+, $200 per child less than age 2 Excess Shelter Deduction $431 for household not containing at least 1 aged/disabled person Homeless Shelter Deduction $143 Boarder/Lodger Exclusion $162 for one, or $298 for two
