Steering Committee AppointmentScarlett Emerson from Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes and a member of the ATI committee has been appointed to the state steering committee of the League of Women Voters Balancing Justice program. Scarlett joins representatives of local programs from across the state in enabling and coordinating efforts of local groups and state-wide task forces to keep criminal justice issues before the public. One such effort is the designation of September 11-15 as Balancing Justice Legislative Week. During that week, local groups were encouraged to visit their state legislators to share experiences in the Balancing Justice project and to present them with a copy of the Balancing Justice Final Report. Locally, Assemblyman Brian Kolb attended a meeting of the Citizen Awareness Task Group at which the Final Report was discussed. Copies of the Balancing Justice Final Report and information about receiving the Balancing Justice newsletter are available from Scarlett Emerson, 315-789-2686. |
