Message from the CoordinatorI am pleased to announce that the ATI office is growing! As of February 12, 2001, we have added two new staff to the office. Colleen Brown has come to us as our Office Specialist 1 and Kevin Case has taken the ATI Officer position and will be responsible, primarily, for the operation of the Pretrial Release Program. Both Colleen and Kevin are welcome additions to ATI. In our next newsletter, we will have an article welcoming them and telling you more about them. We will also have their photos so that if you see them around, youll know where they call "home" within the county family. Also, I want to take this opportunity to let you know that the ATI office is moving, effective February 22, 2001. With the addition of staff, we have outgrown our current office in the Courthouse dome. While I reluctantly give up "the best view in all of Ontario County", I am happy to return to the Human Services Building in Hopewell where I spent several years prior to coming to ATI. ATI has many projects underway. We continue to seek new, innovative and effective ways of carrying out the business of criminal justice. Much of what we must do is to be "visionaries", thinking outside the traditional norms and routines. Although change can be somewhat scary, and I speak from personal experience on that one, change is often good and profitable. The ATI Board continues to work together and is seeking to solidify our goals, both short term and long term. So we continue to be a "work in progress". Thanks to all those folks who are supportive and encouraging and thanks to all those who accept the challenge of trying new programs and giving them a chance to work. Together, we can make a difference. Ginny Gumaer |
