The Ontario County Agriculture Enhancement Plan takes a look at the role agriculture plays in the county's economy, tourism development, protection of natural resources, and overall quality of life and makes recommendations for the actions that should be taken to maintain economically viable agriculture and to preserve critical prime farmland resources.
The plan has been prepared for the Ontario County Agriculture Enhancement Board by Cornell Cooperative Extension with the assistance of the Ontario County Planning Department with a grant from the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. The plan has been adopted by the Ontario County Board of Supervisors and is currently being reviewed by the NYS Department of State. Complete approval of the plan should come later this year.
