9-1-1 (Communications)
Mission Statement
The Ontario County 9-1-1 Center, a division within the Office of Sheriff, County of Ontario, will operate under the procedures and the mission statement of that office. In addition, the Ontario County 9-1-1 Center acknowledges that it exists to serve the emergency needs of all people residing in, working in, or traveling through Ontario County—as well as to serve the communications needs of the Police, Fire, and EMS communities serving in the county. All requests for assistance, whether received via the 9-1-1-telephone system or the emergency radio system will be complied with in a professional and timely manner.

Hyper-Reach Emergency Notifications
In the event of an emergency that citizens need to be informed of, Ontario County 9-1-1 utilizes an outbound notification system called Hyper-Reach®. The system has been used to advise of water main breaks, lost children, and dangerous conditions, as well as many others. This system allows us to choose an address, address range, or geographical area, and send a message to everyone selected at a rate of 10,000 phone numbers per hour. If you receive one of these calls, please follow the directions given and do not call 9-1-1 unless you have an emergency or are directed to do so.

The Hyper-Reach® system uses landline (wired) telephone numbers provided by the telephone companies that serve Ontario County. If you utilize a TDD / TTY or if you use a wireless (cell) phone, digital (VoIP) phone, or a service like Magic Jack® and no longer have a regular wired home phone, please consider registering your phone number to receive these important messages.
