The ONTARIO COUNTY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE provides all civil legal services for the Board of Supervisors, the county's approximately 1000 officers and employees, and its almost 50 departments, including the Sheriff, Finger Lakes Community College and Ontario County Health Facility.

Our office consists of nine attorneys, four full-time and one part-time paralegal specialists, and two support staff, both of whom are full-time employees.

Our representation includes prosecution of juvenile delinquents, child abuse and neglect petitions, adult protective matters, negotiations of labor contracts with eight unions, administration of the Liability Self-Insurance Program, collection of spousal and child support, DSS and Public Health resource recoveries, defense of the county and its employees in negligence and other tort actions, human rights proceedings, county sewer districts, tax enforcement proceedings, and a host of boards, commissions, and committees.
