Dial-A-Ride Service

Fare: $5.00 within zones per passenger one way
Dial-A-Ride service is available Monday thru Friday throughout Ontario County where fixed route service is not available. To reserve your ride, call 24 hrs. in advance. If you must cancel, please call (585) 394-2250 or 1-800-667-CATS.

Dial-A-Ride hours of operation are 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Transportation is provided from your home to your destination or a connection with a fixed route. The driver will assist you on or off the bus if necessary, however drivers cannot act as escorts to and from a location.

Reservations should be phoned in between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm Monday thru Friday. Reservations MUST be ade 24 hours in advance and may be made up to one (1) week in advance.

Lost and Found

If you leave something behind, please call C.A.T.S. at (585) 394-2250 and give as many particulars about the date and time of the trip, the bus route you were riding, and the article(s) lost, and we'll tell you how to proceed. If you find lost property on the bus, please give it to the driver who will turn it in upon return to the garage. If there is an identification on the article(s), we will make every effort to contact the owner.

Suggestions / Problems

C.A.T.S. prides itself on providing the highest quality of service available to the public. All operating personnel are trained professionals with an eye towards attitude, appearance, and performance. If you encounter any difficulty or have complaints or suggestions, call us at (585) 394-2250 or 1-800-667-CATS. Give us as many details as you can, such as route, time of day, etc. For C.A.T.S. information, schedules, route information, or employment opportunities, call C.A.T.S. at (585) 394-2250 or 1-800-667-CATS. Children 5 years and under ride free if they are accompanied by an adult (limit 3 children per adult).

Persons with a Disability

If you are a person with a disability, you are entitled to a half-fare discount on all fixed routes. In order to receive your discount you must display a C.A.T.S. Card or Medicare Card. Half-fare applies only to fixed route service. No discounts are given on Dial-A-Ride or Route Deviations. Lift equipped buses are provided on fixed routes. NOTE: If you have any questions on how to obtain a C.A.T.S. Card, please call C.A.T.S. at (585) 394-2250 or 1-800-667-CATS.

Senior Citizens

If you are 60 years of age or more, you can ride half-fare (50¢) on all fixed routes. In order to receive your discount, you must display a C.A.T.S. Card or Medicare Card. Discount applies only to fixed route service.

Compliance with ADA

County Area Transit System compies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Anyone living within 3/4 mile of a fixed route can arrange to have a bus deviate off a fixed route to pick you up and / or drop you at a destination. You MUST call the CATS office at least 24 hrs. in advance for this service. You may call up to a week in advance for reservations. Weekend and Monday deviations must be called in by 3:00 pm on Friday. Route deviation fares are twice the fixed route fare and no discounts apply.

Monthly Pass

Unlimited Transportation on C.A.T.S. can be yours for $30.00 per monh. Ride all fixed route C.A.T.S. buses as many times as you wish for one low price within the month for which the pass is valid. Passes must be displayed each time you board and must remain in your possession for the entire trip.

Safety Tips

The bus driver's job is getting you safely to your destination. You can help by following these safety tips:

  • Be at the bus stop 5 minutes ahead of the scheduled time
  • State your destination to the driver
  • Take your seat as quickly as possible
  • Never change seats while the bus is moving
  • Never cross the street in front of a bus; oncoming traffic may not stop
  • Refrain from engaging in unnecessary conversation with the driver
  • No pets except service animals
