History of the Ontario County Public Defender’s Office
- The Ontario County Public Defender is appointed for a four-year term by the Ontario County Board of Supervisors.
- Prior to 2009, Ontario County did not have a Public Defender’s Office; however, the County utilized the services of their Assigned Counsel Office for indigent representation. The Ontario County Public Defender’s Office was created in November of 2009.
