The NY OASAS Opioid State Targeted Response team has partnered with the Epic Zone - A Youth Clubhouse and the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Ontario County to provide community narcan trainings and kits free of charge. You must be 16 years of age or older to attend. Program and initiative of the of the Partnership of Ontario County. Narcan is the overdose reversal drug used in an opioid overdose.

This month,Laurie Malotte, clinical coordinator of Thompson's Sleep Disorders Center. She is a state-licensed and nationally-registered sleep technician who has been at the center for almost 18 years. Her presentation is called "Are You Snoring Yourself to Death?" Snoring is associated with sleep apnea, or periods of not breathing normally, which can increase your risk of heart attack and stroke. This support group meets every other month and welcomes all looking for support in dealing with all types of lymphedema. Those attending the meetings are welcome to share their experiences with lymphedema, including forms of treatment and therapy. The group is facilitated by Angela Kiklowicz, a Thompson Health occupational therapist and licensed massage therapist who is certified in Complete Decongestive Therapy for the treatment of lymphedema. This new group has formed out of the need for honesty and support amongst mothers struggling with a mood and/or anxiety disorder that occurs during pregnancy, or after the birth of a new baby. This includes mothers struggling with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Facilitated by Maureen Kellogg of Thompson's Social Work Department, Thompson Health Lactation Consultant/RN Courtney Phillips and a volunteer from the community, the group will offer moms a "safe space" to be transparent about motherhood, mental health, and all the little things in between, providing opportunities to talk with others who have been through or are currently walking through this same season of life.
