The Department of Records, Archives and Information Management Services (RAIMS) was established in 1990 by County resolution. It properly stores all the inactive records of the 55 departments in the County until the records have fulfilled their retention as defined by New State Archives schedule.  The staff microfilms and scans the County’s permanent records and is vigilant in safeguarding the historical volumes and records through preservation and conservation best practices.

RAIMS is a major research facility for the general public and serves researchers from all over the world. Patrons can research in house or request material and documents by contacting us by telephone and email or by completing and submitting on line request form.

Please review our record indexes and genealogy and research services for more details.The Records and Archives Center is open for researchers Monday through Friday (except National Holidays) from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. Whenever possible, call or email ahead of time so that we may prepare for your research needs.
